There are some good principles in this book. However, there are endless checklists for every possible scenario in a leader's life making it unrealistic. A leader will never remember those and I doubt they will keep checklists laying around to help. This author runs organizations but they are organizations where employees want to be there, not government or Fortune 500 companies where personalities conflict quite often. This author is a pastor which poses a problem for the many place in the book where he tells the reader to ignore those who don't agree with you, decide who you will mentor, as those who agree with you to influence those who are still on the fence, give those who agree with you a platform to speak, and it goes on and on and on about exclusion and manipulation. Finally, as a pastor, there is way too much arrogance and lack of humility even though humility is talked about in this book as being essential for a good leader. In short, great leaders don't know their great leaders. But this author sure talks a lot about how "great" a leader he is. This author has a good reputation in the Christian community, I was disappointed.
