I wanted to like this book. It was a little juvenile, but I read a lot of teen fiction for my work, so it was okay. There were not many, if any, editing issues that I found, or misused words, so that was a positive.
The book started well enough, and there was some excitement. Then it bogged down a little, but it was still okay reading about the protagonist learning to survive in a world with different ideas than she'd grown up to have. I couldn't finish it, though. It descended into a sexual free-for-all that I didn't want to read. You can only skip so much before you realize it isn't worth it. I won't read more of this series, but I may try later books, if I can find one that doesn't become more porn than sci-fi. I think he writes well enough, but this missed the mark entirely as military sci-fi.
