I was so disappointed with this installment of this series. I'm not sure why the author decided to introduce a whole new set of characters when I feel there was still much more she could do with the ones we already had. I also don't understand why she keeps making damsels in distress out of the main characters.
Like all her other books there is a female character and a male character that end up getting together. So we have this long expensive annoying sex scene that just does not go with this book. I've said this in every single review so far. it almost feels like a romance novel with a little bit of supernatural and detective storyline.
It also bothers me how the men seem to look at these women like they are helpless and cannot defend themselves. In this book the woman is a marshall and yet she still the damsel in distress being saved by the man. I believe this will be the last book I read of hers for a while.
I don't like not finishing series and I also bought the next two parts. But I need a break! I read the next two books don't even have the characters that I've grown to like. It seems to me she's introducing more characters to make them hook up and end up having this happily ever after. It's sad there's so much potential here I just don't understand why she keeps doing the same thing over and over again.
