This book is number three in a series by Dusty Richards and I gave it a 5-Star rating. Why did I give it a 5-Star rating? I did not want to put this book down. I like the characters and enjoy the different paths the hero goes down to right some wrong and yes there is the ever increasing size of the ranch. I am ready for
book 4.

Dusty Richards is a new author for me and I like his books. I'm into western series and its hard to find a good western that isn't a romance novel pretending to be a western. This is a good series but the author phoned this one in. There should be another book before this one. This is book 3 that doesn't pick up where book 2 ended. A whole new set of characters, weddings, ranches, etc., start out in this book with no explanation. The main character, Chet, seems to be coming or going all the time. Mr. Richards writes with a simplistic vocabulary, IMO, that suits the era and environment. Why an author would leave fans hanging after 2 very good books is a puzzle to me. I will try the next book, but if it is no better than this one, I will stop there.

I have read the first 4 books in this series on the Byrne's Family and just started book 5. There are 8 books so far. You will need to read them in series order to really enjoy them. Kindle has the books out of order so you will need to check Dusty Richards web site for the correct order. I really enjoy reading this series and hope he keeps on writing them. I highly recommend any avid western reader to give this series a try. You will not be disappointed.

Chet Byrnes must surely enjoy trouble, or perhaps it just seeks him out. Whichever, he is always ready to take it on, with good results. Getting that badge proclaiming him to be a deputy U.S. Marshal seems to ease his burden in problem solving. With his numerous ranches thriving, it seems Chet and his bride may be able to settle in, but outsiders have other plans. A good read all around.

I'm sure dusty Richards has a large following,but I was disappointed in the book.There were too many moving parts,namely wives ,cousins,husbands,girl friends,relatives.It was a choir just keeping up with them.Also there was no ending.it just quit.If the author is planning to continue the story,he should at least say what book is the continuation..
