Cute illustrations but awkward when read aloud
Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2019
Ordered this book to read to my 3-year-old niece at bedtime. The book covers 26 tagalog words - one for each letter of the alphabet - and is accompanied by cute illustrations. My biggest complaint was that some of the rhymes just fell flat, sounded awkward when read aloud, and in some pages didn't really do a good job explaining the meaning of the respective word. For the last point, I agree with other reviewers that it would have been nice to have a glossary in the back. At the end of the day I'm glad to add a Filipino-friendly kids' book to the shelf, but since it reads so awkwardly I probably wouldn't recommend it as a gift.
