When my instructor started me on this book a year ago, I hated it! After all, I'd been playing actual songs, and I didn't want to go back to playing boring old exercises. Everything in this method seems very dry and pedantic. But, wow... after working through the pieces and drills in this book with his guidance, I have to say my playing ability has advanced by leaps and bounds. I hate to say it, but sometimes learning a skill is just plain hard work and determination, and this book gives you a good dose of the hard work.
