What a fun read! Staci Layne Wilson offers insight into the life of a super cool and mature woman. She provides us with a glimpse into her personal experiences as the daughter of showbiz parents. Her writing is creative perfection and full of wit, humor, and vivid descriptions of her entire life, which is quite interesting, to say the least. She has a lifelong love of horses and animals, loves her family, respects her parents, stays out of trouble, parties at the Playboy mansion, hangs out with rock stars, interviews celebrities, and becomes an accomplished writer and director. I get the feeling that Staci is a genuine person who was not into the Hollywood scene because she doesn't name-drop celebrities to boast or brag but rather to say they were there and she saw them or talked to them.
She seemed more at home with her horse or in front of her old typewriter, plunking away at the keys. I found this book uplifting in that respect, as most autobiographies from people who met celebrities and stars like to brag about it or complain about them. Staci is the opposite; she is like a family member or friend you can always count on for anything. The only difference? She has led a fascinating life. A must-read if you like the pop culture of the 1970s and 1980s and want to learn about someone you probably would have never known about had she not become a writer.
