How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we donโ€™t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsExtremely fun and informative read!

What a fun read! Staci Layne Wilson offers insight into the life of a super cool and mature woman. She provides us with a glimpse into her personal experiences as the daughter of showbiz parents. Her writing is creative perfection and full of wit, humor, and vivid descriptions of her entire life, which is quite interesting, to say the least. She has a lifelong love of horses and animals, loves her family, respects her parents, stays out of trouble, parties at the Playboy mansion, hangs out with rock stars, interviews celebrities, and becomes an accomplished writer and director. I get the feeling that Staci is a genuine person who was not into the Hollywood scene because she doesn't name-drop celebrities to boast or brag but rather to say they were there and she saw them or talked to them.

She seemed more at home with her horse or in front of her old typewriter, plunking away at the keys. I found this book uplifting in that respect, as most autobiographies from people who met celebrities and stars like to brag about it or complain about them. Staci is the opposite; she is like a family member or friend you can always count on for anything. The only difference? She has led a fascinating life. A must-read if you like the pop culture of the 1970s and 1980s and want to learn about someone you probably would have never known about had she not become a writer.

1.0 out of 5 starsProbably the worst book Iโ€™ve ever read

Just a marginal reiteration of her moms book, and threw in some stories about her dad. Maybe it was done as an homage to her parents but 1/2 way through I figured Iโ€™m almost there Iโ€™ll continue reading. It was a great way to put this insomniac to sleep at night a few pages and out cold.

I just can't finish this book, no matter how hard I try. The lack of depth and over-the-top name-dropping certainly fits as being "So L.A." but there's no substance. Rather than any type of memoir, it reads more like a collection of party stories that were overheard, with notes jotted down on a cocktail napkin; the problem being all you get are the notes and not the complete story. Reminds me of a very young teen trying to write in an adult manner but failing miserably. Sorry, but I have no desire to read anything further from this author.

8th grade level writing at best. A really dull hack-job. Avoid at all costs!

How can you possibly write about Hollywood and make it boring?
The first third of the book is about her parents, LA in 1950, here we come.
Then detailed descriptions of her various houses, moves and ponies.
Maybe it gets better, but I gave up.
