Anarchism and communism/collectivism are inherently contradictory. True anarchism is compatible only with entirely free market variant of capitalism.
Ask yourself this: in the anarcho-collectivist (I laugh every time I hear that) society, what happens if one member decides to take any of his output in excess of his immediate needs and save it, or to invest it in tools to make his production more efficient? In an anarchist society, he is entirely free to dispose of his own time, labor, and output as he sees fit; to consume, save, invest, destroy, or give it away. Once "the collective" has a voice in how he disposes of the fruits of his labor, he is back to being under the heel of the state. Calling it "the collective" rather than "the state" doesn't make it any less vicious. Basically the author advocates control of other people; he just wants it to be a form of control he likes.
