Inaccurate and poorly written

I have been reading military history since i was a kid. I bought this for my son because he needs to move beyond graphic novels and he is very interested in WW2. This book has been so simplified that it has become inaccurate, drawing broad and incorrect conclusions. There are numerous typos and repeated lines of text, and the writing style is poor. For example, the book mentions the Japanese firing torpedoes at aircraft during the battle of Midway. Huh? Second, it gives MacArthur credit for developing war plan Orange. He didn't develop it, and he didn't follow it. Frequently ships are misidentified and the entire campaign of Guadalcanal is described without ever mentioning that the US controlled the sea during the day, forcing the Japanese to only reinforce at night and then without any heavy equipment.
I get trying to simplify the text, but geez, this book is trash.
