Disjointed plot lead to repeat reading for clarification. The beginning was particularly poorly written. Some series can be read as stand alones, but not this one without effort.
The worst part, though, was the end. For me the book wasn't properly finished, with too much of an eye on the next addition to the series. Not a good sign when I'm pressing my next page button and confused as to why the next page isn't coming up.
The best part would be the character development, especially as the book is a novella. The humorous title also grabbed my attention.
I would also like to say that it is a little misleading of the author to include her own 5 star rating, though I'm sure this was not the purpose. I'm not the only reader that uses the rating to inform my purchases, sometimes exclusively and a bogus rating has an impact on books with only a few reviews. At least this was blatant and not a number of dubious friendly ratings.
