It gets better

At first I found this book to be needlessly "wordy" perhaps to fill pages but to the point where I'd lose interest and walk away again for a while, but it drew me back.. I felt the author used too many words to describe insignificant items irrelevant to the storyline or helpful in keeping me with her or staying with the story itself.. Entire paragraphs were wasted describing a single useless item, that kept taking me away from the story. I'd want the author to "Hurry up and get back to it'. It was as if she took a break and had to think of something to move on with. I almost gave up but then... around 1/3 into the book, almost towards the middle, it finally picks up! It really picks way up as things become "on the edge of your seat...I stayed up all night to finish it, that good. Finally straight writing of a great story that takes you with it! More drama takes off and keeps coming. It's as if the author got her groove back and told the story she meant to all along, and what a story it is. I do find many of this authors books to be fairly good, but I feel she often uses too many words as page fillers, in these needless descriptions of every item from binoculars used for a second, to an unimportant person not really part of the story. I found myself skipping through entire paragraphs to get back to the storyline, but the ending was one of the better endings I've read of this authors in awhile. I read a LOT and feel this author is usually telling us a very good story but could save a quart of ink in wasted words that tend to take us away from an otherwise good story!
