I've enjoyed each individual installment of the recluse worlds, some were more engaging and satisfying than others. I feel like this is about average, not the best, but also far from the worst. All of these books give a very ordered view of the authors mind, which is cool, but sometimes unimaginative. Still i love these novels, like a grab bag, always a surprise. At some point I would love it if the author could provide as time line for the novels, clearly the books move forward and backwards, and the geography can change over the centuries, and as a result of the powers leashed or unleashed. But it would be fun to know exactly where each book stands in relation to the eons. Angels and Demons fall periodically from the sky. When in relation to one another. A few characters in some achieve immortality. Do they ever encounter one another. Or are there Angels and Demons, that roll on through the centuries, aware of one another but never clashing. I particularly liked a glimpse of Recluse cutting back its power in order to also decrease the free chaos in the world arrayed against. Do the forces of order and chaos ever achieve a balance that also allows for constant and considerable growth, ever increasing. Might that world look somewhat like or own, some distant future?
