Well worn formula
Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2016
There is nothing wrong with this novel. If it had been my first Michael Connelly read, I am sure I would have loved it. As it happens, I have read every prior novel. This one wore me out. Maybe the crooked cop routine is just not my cup of Bosch tea. I generally like plot complexity and layers and layers of dogged detection with seemingly inconsequential details providing the resolution, but I need a break from the formula. My issues were particularly compounded by the Mickey Haller effect. Too much of a good thing!
