No hype, plenty of hope

If you've never watched Dr. Becky on YouTube video, you owe it to yourself to do so. In her warm, calm, and reasonable way, she guides you through what you need to know about losing weight. At first, I thought I didn't need her book because her videos are freely available. Boy, was I wrong! The book is beautifully designed and is a great help to those of us picking our way through the plethora of info out there. No quick fixes are offered here, but rather a sensible guide to helping us understand why the Standard American Diet (SAD) is disastrous for so many of us. Get those carbs down and give intermittent fasting (IF) a try! Not only does she offer the latest research on IF and metabolic syndrome, but she offers workable, doable meal plans and fabulous recipes. This book has become my go-to resource when I'm wanting to brush up on my knowledge of "Now, how does this work" and when I'm wanting to try a different (but not exotic or costly) recipe. You'll want this book in your home library for sure!
