Top critical review
Not up to her usual standard - short and predictable

I love Karen Kingsbury's books and so I pre-ordered this and waited with anticipation for its arrival. At first I was surprised to see it was a fairly small book, and indeed I was finished with it in a few hours. I was quite disappointed. It had her usual sweet characters, and a fairly interesting plot, but it was like an episode of 3's company. You could see what was going to happen a mile away. Classic miscommunication, everything works out with a little bow tied on it before you really get into the plot. It felt like a hurriedly written book, and it was quite a let down for me
I should add that I have always felt a strong spiritual component in Karen's books. I have felt closer to God when reading her books. With this book, it felt like...just a story. The devotional aspect of it was not present in this one.
I truly hope she gets back on track with her next book as she is one of my favorite authors
