How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This book is #2 and a stand alone book. I read the first book and couldn't wait to get the next one, and read it last night. Maria, is a strong lady - who like her brother has a mind of her own and works with her brother and several of the special ops men. Only one man Jake, is the one she wants. Starting as a crush - that just continues to have her hormone racing. There was some questionable things Jake said and did, but not so that it kept me from giving this 5 stars. I love books with strong women who know what they want. However, in the whole of this book, Jake was fighting with himself in not wanting to love Maria. I found Maria sometimes acted before she thought and could relate. I will continue this series, unless Sandra Owens the author drastically changes her writing. I find her books, easy and quick to read, which I love and have the action I like.

3.0 out of 5 starsSticking with three
Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2017
Book two was a major improvement over book one.I really liked the story line That being said something still felt off. Good story line but character interaction and love scenes felt off somehow. Almost like a poor mix of genres. This is a basic classic romance but the author trying to portray passionate lovemaking misses the mark and leaves this reader cringing. Certain words just shouldn't be used to describe bedroom stuff. Some of the scenes i thought were almost awkwardly written with a touch of dramatic. Then the build up of the story was so obvious in spots you could guess the ending. On to book three...not excited about this but I did buy the whole set. I am being a little harsh I suppose considering it kept me. Intrigued enough to read it within two evenings.

2.0 out of 5 stars Way too much explicit sex.

I could not get through this book. About halfway or a bit before it became one sex scene after another. It didn't feel like love scenes. Just sex. Other than that, this book was okay. Plotting needed work.

This book was hard to get into. The constant, contradictory back and forth between Maria and Romeo was irritating and neither character was very likable.

Even though I like reading romance suspense novel,I prefer them with a little more suspense than romance. It surprises me than now lots of writers want to emulate the trilogy Fifty Shades of Gray in the sexual encounters and I don`t think it is necessary.

Disappointing...no surprises or acceptable twists. The only real part was the death of the "comrade." Won't read more of her books.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me
Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2016
I struggled with my decision to leave a review or not. What should I say? I hate to tear down someone's hard work and this is obviously a talented author. I decided to go ahead and post my opinion though because this book has left me thinking about it for hours after I finished it.
Usually rethinking the story you finished earlier is a good thing but not in this case. I absolutely did not like the male main character. He was awful and it ruined the book for me. I keep remembering all the ways he was a jerk. I won't go into detail because it would take too long, yes, he really was that bad, and until the very end he showed no redeeming qualities. That ruined the romance factor.
After reading a romance novel I like to feel good about the couple. That didn't happen here.

Not sure the author knew where to go with this story. Maria is such a doormat -- don't care how in love you are with someone, following a man around like a puppy when they treat you poorly is pathetic. And Jake just couldn't make sense of anything -- did he or didn't he love her?! So glad to be done with the book & I am done with the series.

I wanted to like this more. Just ok really. Very basic, corny and cliche. Basically the run of the mill womanizer/ tough guy has traumatic experience. I had a hard time getting invested in the characters. And the end was about 20% too long, just end it already

Not up to par with the first K-2 team novel. The storyline together with the characters was disappointing and to predictable

I enjoyed the first K2 book, and this one was okay....but not as good. It felt like it was written by a completely different author than the first one. The dialogue was just terrible.
