Amazon calculates a product’s star ratings based on a machine learned model instead of a raw data average. The model takes into account factors including the age of a rating, whether the ratings are from verified purchasers, and factors that establish reviewer trustworthiness.
Its a well made book, but definitely NOT first grade material. This is basic PK/Kinder work. The alphabet is missing some important phonetics that most kids learn; Ch (like in Cheese), Ll (eh-ye), and the double R (rolling R's). My daughter is in a dual immersion program and about 60% of this book she learned in Preschool. Its still a fun little review book with cute pictures but definitely NOT first grade material. In kindergarten they are already writing simple sentences and math up to number 20 but can count to at least 50 with a majority up to 100 in Spanish. Also, they use the word Madre for Mother, but in most Spanish homes, children will say "mama" - I think this might be more of a literal translation book than conversational too. It's a cute beginner book though.
Perfect for my very smart 5 & 6 year olds! They love it! The pages have perforation making it easy to tear the pages out. Great little lessons and gradual learning worksheets. Highly recommend. Can easily be used for pre-K through 3rd grade depending on your child’s present maturity/learning level.
Very disappointed. I want a Spanish workbook in Spanish. At the very least I would accept bilingual. This is neither. Although some basic nouns and verbs are in Spanish, directions are only in English. True Spanish acquisition should be done by immersion, especially at the age for which this workbook is intended. I have now tried three Carson Dellosa workbooks and they are all the same. I will not make that mistake again.
I took pictures correctly but some of them may be on their sides due to an error with Amazon.
My daughter loved this book. She finished it fairly quickly on her own and enjoyed it. We helped as needed, of course, but she really enjoys reading and learning and happily took this on by herself. We've been working on a lot of different workbooks this summer to keep our minds right for school, and this was a book she definitely enjoyed. Would use this brand again!
I got this same book in Level 3 for my daughter because she is a 3rd Grader, but this is actually her first year of Spanish. This level 1 was much more on par with her level of ability, so we will be saving the other book for the future.
