Our whole family loves this series of books. Our three year old started exclaiming how mad she was at people or things a few times a day, so this book was published just in time! I love that throughout the series, the baby is never named or given a specific gender. Both boys and girls can relate to these characters.
We are reading a rotation of this new book, and the author’s Halloween classic called “BOO.” Great problem solving ideas without the preachiness of some books of the type.
Best of all, there is a plush version of the baby in this story
We have almost all of the Leslie Patricelli books, and my kids have loved all of them. Even my older kids still like reading them to their younger sister. This one has peaked my toddler's interest lately, and she requests to read it several times a day. She thinks it's funny when Baby gets mad, but also identifies with it, saying, "I do that too!" and the book gives great strategies for calming down. A great buy. Keep writing them, Leslie!
I'm surprised how well this book went over with my 20mo old grandchild. When I first looked at it I though it was just okay, but it's definitely a favorite of theirs.. My grandchild really seemed to understand the message. It is well made and the illustrations are cute. A great way to introduce stopping to breath in and out (mediation) to little ones.
Excellent book to help my toddler deal with feeling angry. He’s been having a hard time with hitting, and now he proudly tells me he’s “scared the mad away!” We love this book and would recommend to anyone in a similar situation!
All of these books are wonderful. You can read them as is, but they are simple enough that you can embellish as needed. My little ones like to point to the words. We have several of these books and read one almost every day
