Nice, accessible arrangements of familiar tunes

This is an excellent book for the begining to intermediate classical or fingerpicking guitar player. The songs are mostly located in the first 3 positions (1st-5th frets) making them relatively accessible. I am an intermediate player and I am able to sight read some of the tunes. A few are challenging. They can be played as written or you can add additional chord tones to fatten them up a bit. The arrangements do lend themselves to customization. Please note, this is a music collection, not a method book and some prior knowledge is needed.
Sometimes with books like this, it's obvious that the arrangements were done in a formulaic manner without care. That IS NOT the case here. These are nice arrangements obviously done by someone who plays guitar.
The melody is written separately so that is possible for a vocalist or other C instrument to join you. The music print is plenty large and I can read it easily. My only criticism is one of personal preference. I read standard notation and don't need the tablature. Without it, many of the 3 page songs might have fit onto 2 pages. I understand for some people the tablature is valuable. These arrangements are perfect for someone with a solo or duet acoustic gig. If there was a downloadable version with the parts separated, that would be incredible but you can't have everything. You get a 100 tunes for $25. It's a great deal.
I disagree with the person who said these are not arrangements but just melodies and chord symbols. That is simply not true. The arrangements vary. Some are simple in that they are mostly bass notes and melody but many feature various chord inversions and arpeggios and are quite nice. Moon River is very nice. My Funny Valentine is a challenge but beautiful. Can't Help Falling in Love is simple but very nice.
Lastly, one must understand that some songs lend themselves more readily to fingerpicking arrangements. Some may work for you. Some may not. Peace. Fight the good fight. Share music.
