Illustrated friendship amid gridlock
Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2020
For a kids book, this doesn't stick with just simple words or concepts. Treacherous situations like a dump truck turned sideways, gridlock, a tow truck not being able to help? This is edge of the seat high drama, with two different unlikely friends at the core.
Sure, you'll tell me it's just trucks and I'm reading too much into the diversity concept and girl power and believing in yourself, your strengths, and the power of friendship. But I know I'm right.
The illustrations are fun, bright colors with a limited palette for maximum effect. I'm smitten by the trees in the background.
