This was such a wonderful story! I loved how Tanner stayed true to who he was. In spite of the concocted reputation smearing his name, he stood up to his attackers and went about his business. Legg stands true to his stories, this is chock full of action, keeping this reader riveted!

What did I like? The history of the Native Americans is sometimes very bloody and the attack at Sand Creek was one of them. I appreciate the approach that John used in recounting the events of that terrible incident. Many were hurt, not only the natives but also others from the stench of the event.
What will you like? A little history, romance, friendships, learning trust, making friends, finding love, facing the past, and looking forward to the future. John has taken an incident of the past and incorporated it into a fascinating storyline that tells the story from another point of view. There is plenty of action and lots of soul searching involved with the characters. The cast ranges far and wide with the good and the bad. The storyline is interesting and well-edited.
