If your child is a wannabe foodie and is learning how to count, he or she may enjoy this book where they get to count different types of food, like the number of hamburgers or pizza slices on a page. What I liked about this book is that it also had comparisons. For instance, one page asks the reader to count both the fruits and vegetables to see which one had more items. Since this is food based, this is also a great book to help a child learn how to identify different foods. Some illustrations, though, were perhaps a little too whimsical, as there were even a few that I wasn't quite sure of. One thing that was a little boring is that the questions were posed exactly the same way for each type of counting to be done. So there was one standard question for the comparison and another standard question for the single item pages. It would have been nice if this was varied, even just a little bit. Still, all in all, this looks like a fun, brightly-colored way to learn how to count and compare.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
