So much is happening and so many friends are involved now, it's hard to keep track of them all. All our friends are still in play, but scattered across the galaxy on missions. The Gatekeeper Academy is close to graduating its first class. Included in the graduating class are Jules and Dean, Magnum and Nat's son. Jules is having trouble controlling her Iskos abilities, with them failing at odd times and just not being there when she needed them. A group called the Restorers has grown on Earth. Their main desire being to avoid new and improved life, preferring to revert to older, simpler lifestyles without the use of technology. Magnus and Dean Parker are infiltrating the group to see what their deal is, how to stop their attacks. Slate is leading the Academy now and is taking his graduating class on a final trip to help the population of a dying world resettle to a safe planet whose sun is not going to destroy them. Not all wish to be "saved" and the students job will be to make sure everyone on the planet is evacuated safely. Of course something is going to go wrong! Jules finds a huge crystal that contains the god the people pray to. Of course, Jules finds that it is a teleporter crystal and that she can use it!
It's awesome seeing all our friends back in action. The kids are grown and becoming such a huge part of the storyline, become main characters with their own adventures and problems. The characters have become part of the family now and it's wonderful seeing them in action. Naturally, there are bad guys everywhere and they have to add their plots and machinations into the mix as well. We get to see the Collectors, PlevCorp, and the Restorers with their parts to play. Intrigue and malfeasance are the words of the day. This is another outstanding read in this amazing series!
