Describes Very Important, Hardly Ever Covered Elsewhere, Sections of the CI/CD Pipeline
May 28, 2019
Excellent excellent book. Even if you know CI/CD, are an SRE, and have been a programmer before (all of this apply to me) it is very very likely you still need to study the info in this book. Testing is really really important for modern fast developing, almost like the assembly line was to manufacturing. It can also be extremely boring and frustrating if you’re not doing it right. This book, which I bought in the Kindle version but then switched to the Paperback because I knew I would want to review, is the whole enchilada. It covers testing techniques, philosophy / culture, and most importantly the relevant tools that go in every phase of the cycle.
Long story short, even if you’ve read every O’Reilly book on CI/CD, it’s very likely you haven’t been exposed to Continuous Testing information (I haven’t seen them cover this topic yet) so it’s incredibly important I think for people leading teams to be exposed to the info this book.
