A predictable romantic drama of Amber Drake, a reluctant psychic who, because of her cursed gift, feels disconnected from people...and who, inadvertently discovers wolf-shifters exist, putting her life in possible danger. Alpha wolf and Pack Leader, Garrett Green, has trouble coming to terms with his inner wolf identifying Amber as their mate, even though she’s human and a no-no.
This was an ok story but I had trouble with the author calling these wolf-shifters “werewolves”. These were men who shift completely into quadrupedaled wolf form, which I always equated to shapeshifters & different from bipedal wolfman werewolves. I dunno..anyway, lots of repeated and reiterated info. I guess Ms. Rose wanted to be sure I got the point, but just to make sure, let’s reiterate once more why Garrett doesn’t want to call his dad for help because it’s already been three pages since she last informed me & I might’ve forgotten. Or why he cannot pursue Amber because, let’s see...it’s not obvious. Then there’s mathematical errors like “6 pairs of glowing eyes” when their were only three wolves present. Six pairs of eyes, or six sets equals six wolves. Silly stuff like this derailed my reading. And, an old lady with long white hair and a youthful face appears twice and then ..poof💨..is gone. No explanation who this was or why she appears/disappears or how she plays into the story... <smh>. Garrett’s struggle to deny his wolf’s desire to mate Amber, for various reasons, was great at first. But the push/pull went on too long. I loved Garrett’s possessiveness and hot tempered jealousy but make up your mind... There is no MC. Garrett rides a motorcycle..other than that, why is the MC in the title? I never knew what Garrett saw in Amber or what it was about her that drew him in, and we’re never told why. I don’t think he knew either other than “she’s so cute” and his wolf chose her. Amber is a lawyer so it’s implied she’s supposed to be intelligent with a forceful personality, but there’s nothing that she does that shows intelligence. She’s more nervous and flighty. Anyway, told in 1st person, dual POV’s with provocative language. The ending left me feeling incomplete, without closure, yet it’s not a cliffhanger...it just needed the holes plugged and the loose threads tied up. It needed more.
