Can't recommend enough!

So honestly, this isn't the kind of book I would normally read. I generally want to be entertained, not educated. Imagine my surprise when I WAS entertained as well as educated. I wish I had read this book 20 years ago! The book is extremely well organized and gives references to further reading so if a subject catches your interest, you can move on and learn more about it. I love the way the author uses examples from her own career to illustrate points and drive home mistakes I know I have made as well. Anyone who wants to be a good supervisor or a good employee can benefit from the lessons in this book. You will not be disappointed if you read it, I know I certainly wasn't. Thanks Ms. Miller for giving me the opportunity to enjoy your book.

Not sure of all these positive reviews telling how this book is a must read and it changes their lives and saved human kind.

This book is pretty useless for most managers with half a brain. This basically tells you just common sense things, but never tells you HOW to do them. This book is like a financial stock book that promises to tell you how to get rich, and then simply says "pick a good stock, then buy low and sell high". Yeah, no kidding. With this book, the author tells you not to micromanage. Duh. She tells you to build trust and build personal relationships. Duh. But she never really hits the hard things, like... HOW. Now there's a concept. Actually tell people how to achieve those things. She actually just quotes other books, and at the end of each chapter lists those books out. Gee, thanks.

Sorry, this book is a no go for me. I doubt Oprah would like it either.

I love that this book was short and easy to read! Long books usually go on with too much filler material and irrelevant junk! Who has the time or interest? I read this book in four days, as I had time to. Easy read with nice and large font. Love it! Love that the paper it is printed on is good for highlighting and underlining, too. No glossy, light reflecting pages here! Good! Great book at a fair price! Interesting ideas and great advice given! I sincerely hope author Shanda K. Miller will write more books in the future.
