Diabolical Serial Killer Mystery
Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2019
This serial killer is so evil and so difficult to identify! The author has outdone herself in scary characterizations. Sheriff Jenna Alton and Deputy David Kane are partners in more ways than one. Ooooooo! I feel this series can be read out of order. Kane and Alton have a backstory that is presented in the first few chapters of all the books in the series. It should also be noted that the town Black Rock Falls has an unusual number of serial killers over time. Another way of saying remember, this is just fiction.
“Whisper In The Night” has teenage girls being strangely stalked and kidnapped and murdered, and is very disturbing. As a police procedural it is very well done, although I’m wondering why all the girls (who say they had dreams of a man being in their bedroom at night) weren’t warned or watched more carefully. There is some confusion also about the murdered girls having left their houses themselves. The first girl murdered appeared to be kidnapped from her room, but also leaving her house on her own before being kidnapped!? Also the author takes a cheap shot at POTUS that doesn’t even make sense.
This is a much anticipated latest book of this series that falls a little short of expectations. It’s still an enjoyable and entertaining read, though.
