Another great addition to a great series

My 4 year old has been a fan of this series since I bought him his first one when he was 2. He was very excited to read this new release and to see all his favorite trucks from the prior books.

I got a little worried when I realized they were there to build a highway in a space that looks very much like the desert area in Cars (where the premise is that a little town gets bipassed by a big highway and is left to deteriorate). I was worried my kiddo would see the parallels, but the destination of the road is nice and vague in the book so that you could pretend the highway is connecting a small town to the city instead. I appreciated the slight nod to nature conservation in the book. It would have been great if that was a core focus of how they were building the highway and part of the text, but I appreciated the short snippet at the end discussing it.

Good but missing page or weird transition

We love this book, it’s great. My only complaint is that it might be missing a page? These are the two pages that don’t seem to transition well. The vehicles are usually introduced and the semi truck/dump truck wasn’t. Maybe someone can let me know if this is correct?

Visiting grandsons several states away, I was pleased to learn that one of their favorite books has been "Good Night, Construction Site"--which I had bought for their older cousins several years ago and which those cousins had then "handed down" to the younger boys. I had carried a new copy of "Construction Site: Road Crew, Coming Through" with me, and they wanted me to read it to them every evening before bedtime. It delighted them that the familiar characters (excavator, dump truck, etc.) appear in this book, too--this time to help a more sophisticated road crew (paver, striper, water truck). Especially for the 5-year-old, newly in kindergarten, it was a pleasure to see the two teams cooperating and finishing a big job with pride.

Another excellent Construction Site book! My boys have loved learning about the additional machines that are used to create roads. There's also the nice addition in the back explaining how roads are now being designed to be more considerate of the animals that might need to cross underneath.

This book is a must for any truck-loving child! We own all the major picture books in this series and this one just might be my favorite. It has wonderful illustrations. It has nicely flowing rhymes. It has both male AND female vehicles, which is great representation to see. I It even builds a road that has wildlife crossing points, which it discusses at the end of the book!

I bought this book for my Grandson and have since gotten all her construction books for him. He reads these over and over, they are his favorite! He does have many other books. They are written in rhyme and talks about being a good "truck". So they can relate to them.
