Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
As I did expect, this anthology is really just your average pulp horror collection, with no tales really standing out and making you glad that you purchased this. That is not to say everything here is rather poor, indeed that would be doing this an injustice, it is just that the tales here are your meat and potato type that magazines publish as filler and to keep us entertained. There is not that much originality here and you can clearly see at times where the influences came from for some of the writers.
As we are all aware of, any such collection as this does lead to us having particular favourites and I am sure that some will find ones that they prefer to others, which is par for the course, but I cannot say that any here have become particular favourites with me, just a couple that I slightly prefer to the others. If you are looking for a collection of wintry horror inspired stories then this will pass a couple of hours for you of spooky entertainment, just do not expect to get bowled over.
For the serious or hardened horror fan then this will not break any new ground and may leave you feeling a bit disappointed, not in the stories as such, but in the fact that these are just so average and not truly inspiring.
