DON MIGUEL RUIZ IS MY HERO

I mean, where do I begin. I’ll just start with this book changed my life. Literally. I was given this book about 5 years ago at a time where I was looking for certain answers so I could start to make sense of my life. So I was open to receive this book and everything it had to say (very important btw). After reading this, it’s like Don Miguel Ruiz himself lifted the blurry filter that had covered my eyes and he allowed me to SEE SO CLEARLY. Literally the most life-changing book I’ve ever read. I don’t know if it’ll do the same for you but I base my whole life now off of the lessons in this book. (Then I began to read his other books, The Four Agreements and The Mastery of Love. Incredible). ABSOLUTELY A BOOK FOR EVERYONE. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK. Maybe we’ll all understand each other a lot better and begin to take control of our own lives. I highly recommend reading this book FIRST, then read The Four Agreements; the two books go hand in hand.) Maybe it’ll change your life too and you’ll begin to understand your life and people in general in a whole new light. It really puts it all into perspective.

Condescending and overly simplistic. Simple book for simple people.

I hated this book.
It is written in such a way that it is condescending and broadly over simple. I’m a major highlighter person when reading, my highlighter never even had the lid removed when reading this “book”.
The Intentional misuse of words is also infuriating. “Voice of knowledge is wrong and a lie” well then, how can you say it’s the voice of knowledge.

All humans are full of lies, and everything is love.
That’s in a nutshell the book. Save yourself the frustration of listening to a mlm sermon of bs and look somewhere else for your next book.

That said, this is a simple book for simple people.

If your into stuff that doesn’t make you think at all and just makes you feel good, your likely the target Audience for this book. If you have gemstones and essential oils all over your house you will likely love this book.
For anyone who is analytical or Interested in facing their demons head on- this book will anger you and waste your time.

It is a practical guide to personal peace as it addresses how the day to day indoctrination we are subjected to makes us try to be something or someone we are not. If you live in fear, doubt, shame, or guilt this book can help you. I have read the book at least 8 times along with The Four Agreements.

Another wonderful book by don Miguel Ruiz. Like all his works, it speaks best for itself. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone, and that is a rare thing. If you give it a chance you will eventually realize there is an incredible amount of highly sophisticated wisdom distilled in this book, despite being entirely readable for people with no knowledge of philosophy.

It is yet another attempt by Ruiz to help people regain faith in themselves and to see the truth while letting go of preconceptions and lies that hold us back and make us suffer pointlessly. Anyone who makes a genuine effort will agree that he succeeds in giving anyone many wonderful psychological tools for precisely this purpose.

We are all stronger and more capable than we realize--just give your best effort and you'll realize it's true.

However, for me, this was simply reinforcement of the message. The more we say it (or read it), them more believe it.

... Just as inspiring, if not even more thought provoking.

In this book, Ruiz talks about how knowledge is "the root of all evil" (within us) and how this information has programmed us to believe it without question.

The knowledge we take as "truth" is nothing but the images and the stories of others, which comes from the stories of those who trained and educated them.

We need to unlearn all of the "lies" (information) that we have taken to be truths about ourselves. If we can do this, says Ruiz, then we will become able to write our own story, based upon love, appreciation and gratitude for ourselves. Unconditionally. And when we are able to do this, we become the primary character in the story of our own making, no longer trying to be what we are not.

It is difficult to go into more detail, therefore I highly recommend you read this book. However I might suggest you prefers this excellent "story" with "The Four Agreements", followed by "The Mastery of Love". If you read them in this order, you begin to see more clearly, although it can be challenging at times, HOW to achieve the that Don Ruiz portrays in this book.

Read it slowly, take it in, ponder on the concepts, and see where it takes you.

After reading this book, I have an urge to buy a copy for all of my closest family and friends. The author offers amazing insight into human nature. He talks about how we mentally defeat ourselves and hold ourselves back from satisfaction in our life and from true unselfish love (encompassing all the definitions of love). He then offers real solutions on how we can work to remove those poisonous mental habits. He writes in a concise, easy to read way that lets you read a chapter in 15 minutes but ponder the message for days. Every person who is interested in exploring who they are and why should read this book.
