A Mass for the Dead is my all time favorite book. I bought this book in 1996 from an independent publisher.

I have been asked by many friends who read to recommend books. I always refer to this masterful book by William Gibson. I purchased two volumes to give away as gifts. It is the book that takes your breath away. I lay the it down after reading the last page and could do nothing but inhale the spirit of the thing. I haven't read it again, but I must because I am certain since I was 53 at my first read, at my advanced age of 70 the account of this life on paper will mean more to me today. This for me isn't a five star book, it rates twice that. Enjoy. The word "lyrical" comes to mind.
Mr. Gibson wrote among other plays: 'Two For the Seesaw,' 'Golda,' and with Clifford Odets, 'Golden Boy.' He lists 'A Mass for the Dead' as a chronicle. He has written other plays, poems and chronicles as well.
