5.0 out of 5 starsMick's book is another hit in this series
Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2013
Great book. I loved Mick. I liked him in Rebel so I knew I'd really love a whole book centered around him. Quin in still helping Teagan with the accounting part of finding out how her step mom is involved with her dad's death and the take over of his business. We get to see Teagan and Rebel some in this book too. However, this is Quin and Mick's book, so it's mostly about them.

Quin tries to fight her attraction to Mick because she's scared of being hurt. But our boy Mick won't give up. He's really the sweetest, sexiest thing. Quin can get on your nerves a little with her over analyzing everything, and she is really quick to draw conclusions and say stuff before thinking. But Mick makes up for her shortcomings, and she can be funny sometimes. Quin's brother, Jersey, is big part of this book and the love that Quin has for him. Jersey is special and needs adult supervision. When he meets Mick, he is immediately drawn to him and calls him Mickey Mouse...so sweet. You will seriously fall more in love with Mick when you read about his interactions and patience with Jersey. He doesn't treat him special, Mick treats Jersey like he would a younger brother and its so heartwarming to witness. You can tell Mick truly cares for him, and Quin sees it too.

Colin a/k/a Trouble causes a little trouble involving Quin. I can't wait for his book next month. I know it will be as good as these first too. Anyway, Colin causes a little tension among the brothers. But all ends up good.

The background to this book is still discovering the issues involving Teagan's dad. We'll get the conclusion in the next book, Trouble, which is due to be published the end of December. BTW, this book ends in a really good place with Mick and Quin and leaves you with a smile. There is so much more to this story and a large number of specifics I've left out, things that make this story more special, so please add this book to your list of books to be read. You'll love all the characters and be glad you got it.

3.0 out of 5 starsMick & Quin
Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2013
I absolutely loved Rebel and I hate to give this second book such a low rating, but it ended abruptly, we didn't get a whole lot of answers to Teagan's story about her father's death, and although I learned a lot about Teagan's BF Quin I didn't learn anything about Mick's past. I know the third book is coming out soon but it just seemed to leave me hanging. Teagan & Quin are hilarious but where I found Teagan quirky & sweet, Quin was a little more annoying. Over half of the book is spent with Mick & Quin circling each other without much physical contact. Quin is trying to finish college & is really concerned about her younger brother Jersey who seems to have some mental issues. She is very protective of him & later we find out exactly why - he can be cute & funny at times, but Jersey cannot be left alone since he does childish & sometimes dangerous things. Quin doesn't need a man like Mick in her life, and yet all of us readers fall in love with Mick & really know he is the best thing for her. He is with her every step of the way & is incredibly sweet & supportive of Jersey. He does everything in his power to be a nice guy so why the nickname Hellion? The first book discussed it somewhat but I can't remember - it would have been nice, again, if we reviewed Mick's past. Teagan & Rebel are stronger than ever & Teagan finds out some terrible things about her father's death - but proving his death wasn't an accident will be tough. While investigating and talking to Teagan's father's co-workers Quin & Mick move their relationship up several notches and fall for each other very quickly. One of their old dorm roommates finds herself pregnant & without parental support. Teagan, Quin & the boys take her under their wing. And there were quite a few parts of the book about their other brother Colin who is a closet artist who shares his secrets with Quin. Can't wait to read more about him!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not My Favorite in the Series

I was absolutely blown away by Rebel. Hellion didn't quite hit that mark for me, but I still enjoyed the story and the series as a whole.

I'm on the fence about how I felt about Quin. I didn't mind her in Rebel, mostly because she was a secondary character. She was a little wild and crazy and brash and that was totally fine for what she was in that book. In this book, however, I didn't see enough of a softer side of her to really grow to like her. I was more annoyed by her, I think. She's just a little immature and that frustrated me more than anything. I didn't dislike her, so much as wish she'd have grown just a little more.

I really liked Mick. He was sweet and perfect and tried so hard to be good for Quin. He interacted perfectly with her family--that was probably my favorite thing about him. His interactions with his own family were tense at best sometimes, but very realistic.

Quin and Mick had pretty solid chemistry. I believed that they really loved one another and I was happy when they finally got together for good.

All in all, it was a good story, but not my favorite by far. It's worth it to get to Trouble, though.

Quin’s character makes me laugh and want to smack her all at once. She was loud and has no filter on her mouth which was fun but irritating at times. She is such a good, loyal friend to Tegan and loves her family dearly but was totally insensitive to everyone. She also is extremely smart and a total ditz all in one. Her characters flaws were part of the books appeal to me.

Mick is Rebel’s sexy, chattier, playful younger brother. Mick is sensitive and too quick to apologize for anything that upsets Quin and is relentless in his pursuit of Quin. He is a total sweetheart. I really liked Mick and wish he was given a better HEA.

Until the final chapters, I really liked this book. The back and forth was mostly fun to read although, Mick doesn't really do anything to deserve Quin’s whip-lashing mood changes. I could not get on board with them barely deciding to give their relationship a shot then deciding to move in together after she finds out he was with someone else until a few weeks before. I felt like they were just starting to connect as a couple.

3.0 out of 5 stars Got a little frenzied, overall I liked the idea but the back and forth got to be too much.

Quinlan Torres believes she can't take on any more responsibilities in her life. She feels like she has to get her life on track so she can take car of her brother who is in constant need of supervision. It doesn't mean she can't flirt though and for some reason she keeps finding Mick in her path. He wants a date, she doesn't. However the attraction between them is undeniable and when they join forces to help her best friend she isn't sure she can keep her distance from Mick anymore, but is he just a player?

I started off really liking this but as the story progressed I found it a bit to melodramatic. Quin has a temper and she takes some pot shots at Mick, Mick is confusing because I wasn't sure what he was after. Got a little frenzied, overall I liked the idea but the back and forth got to be too much.

So, I read Rebel in literally 4 straight hours. I loved it so much that I immediately downloaded Hellion and started reading the next day.
This is the 4th book I've read by Elle Casey. The first I loved, the second I didn't. The 3rd was Rebel (which I loved) and now Hellion... well, it left me feeling empty.
I love Quin. I wasn't impressed with Mick. Their relationship and interactions left me feeling empty.
Writing was good and flawless as usual. Witty banter and some really awesome inner monologue.
I finished this book in 4 hours again, but I didn't love it like I loved Rebel. I'm not even sure I really liked it. I tolerated it.
Since I seem to have this love/hate relationship with Elle's book, I have high hopes for Trouble which should be releasing soon.
I do love dark and brooding Colin, who is an artist, so I'm super excited to read about him.

It actually pains me to give this book 3 stars, because Elle Casey is my favorite author, and the other two books in this trilogy had me enthralled, but for whatever reason this one didn't do it for me. I suppose it's because Quin ground my nerves after such a wonderful and relatable character as Teagen. The saving grace in this book was Jersey , who was adorable and perfectly written. The ending quarter of the book was the best by far... I still definitely recommend the series, and this part of it, I just hope Elle starts clear of irritating characters that are difficult to relate to.

I didn't like this one as much as some of her other books. The heroine was a beatch. I was getting seriously irritated with her. If this was a friend of mine, I would have given her a massive reality check. A good guy comes along who's interested in you - he's not going to put up with all that sh*t. Then she'd realize she's being ridiculous, and she would slather on the guilt and self-pity like a good little martyr (ugh!). And she kept apologizing for the same things over and over, even after he says it's forgiven or not a big deal. Ugh. Read this book if you like to pity party.

Reading as much as I can
3.0 out of 5 stars Quin is too frenetic and pushes Mick away one too many times for me to enjoy it...
Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2013

The second book in this series, Quin is the BFF of Teagan and is a bit of a wild card. She is loud, has no filter on her mouth and is racy. She was funny and comic relief in the first book. She also is smart and is helping Teagan win her battle against her evil step mother (corporate takeover).
Mick is the sexy brother of Teagan's boyfriend, Rebel. He is sexy, hot, alpha-male but says more than Rebel.
In the first book, Mick is a bit rough around the edges. In this book, he's totally different.
Mick is sensitive, quick to apologize for bad behavior to Quin and is relentless in his pursuit of Quin.

Quin has a special needs brother (autism?) and her interaction with him is funny. It is endearing as well. She loves him like her own child and will do anything to protect and take care of him. Love that side of her.
Love the side of her where she is the loyal BFF. Love the side of her where she is working hard to help her BFF win her father's company back from the evil stepmother.

But that is about it.
Quin is extremely annoying in this book. One minute she is in the throws of hot chemistry with Mick, then she insults him and throws him out/ or walks away from him. He doesn't really do anything to deserve her 180 degree, whiplashing, hot to cold changes. She is frenetic in her need to keep away from him. It's annoying. I wanted him to find someone better. Why does he like her so much that he's willing to put up with her schizophrenic behavior???

Mick isn't a super prize either, but he isn't super bad. He works in the body shop with his brothers. He also works as a bouncer at a nightclub. He breaks out his fists against his other brother when barely provoked. Yes. Macho boy.
But overall, he seems to be aware of Quin's mood swings and attempts to work things out, he is 100% adorable with Quin's disabled brother, and comes to help his brother in a pinch.

About 60% of the way into the book, she actually starts to act like a normal person. Still no-filter, funny, sassy and crazy, but not annoying anymore. The rest of the book is fine. She takes a chance on Mick.

The books ends with a HEA for the couple. The issue of Teagan's suit is still open and ready for book 3 to come along.
Am guessing that the book will be about Colin (the third sexy brother) and probably the next character, a single pregnant woman.
I finished this book because I enjoyed Rebel (book #1) and will probably read book #3. But overall, this was just o.k....
Quin seemed like to be on crack, or speed the whole book. She never relaxes, never slows down. She made me nervous the who time. I didn't really see the attraction b/w Mick and Quin. Teagan throws a jealous fit in the beginning of the book that is undeserved. Quin throws a jealous fit at the end of the book that is totally undeserved, and gets away with it. Their relationship will never last if she jumps to the wrong conclusion immediately w/o talking to Mick first. Very immature.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok but not great

The first book, Rebel was much better. Took too long for the H/h to get together and the end seemed rushed. Found myself skipping ahead, which is never a good sign. Liked the friendship between Teagan the Quin and I liked the underlying story of the Quin dealing with her disabled brother. Also liked that the story of Teagan and Rebel is continued in the book. Not sure I'm gonna read the third book, I am curious about what is up with Colin but not curious about continuing the saga of Mick and Quin in this book, particularly bc I found the ending to feel unrealistic. Also too many unanswered questions re Mick, still unclear why his nickname is Hellion. Given the fact that three guys were raised in foster care and have major trust issues (which was very realistic), doesn't compute that they so quickly commit to serious relationships with the heroines. Was unrealistic but at least plausible in Rebel, completely unrealistic in Hellion. Ok, but disappointed.

I loved the first book in the series "Rebel" (got for free) because of the fun dialogue, so I purchased this second book which is Quinn and Mick's romance. The dialogue is not as funny nor are the characters. Story lines feel strained. The addition of Alyssa is baffling until you realize the other brother Colin needs a girl for book 3.
