Misses the mark.

I had high hopes for this book, and sadly, I was disappointed.
The message is tolerance, but the book relies on stereotypes, which is rather cringy. For example, two little boys have brown skin while a little girl’s skin is “soft and creamy white,” or something like that.
Another example is that Juan eats tortillas and a boy named “Ping” eats rice.
While the theme of the book is to highlight diversity, it really just comes across as singling individuals out.
