Not as good as they used to be, but still best value

The Wilson NCAA Final Four edition used to be the best indoor/outdoor basketball there was. It was price protected and cost $40, even at walmart. It was not cheap, but it was nice ball with deep grooves and outlasted anything else, even playing on concrete or pavement.
Now the ball has been redesigned and dramatically cheapened. $20 is a really low price for a basketball, but the quality went with it. The ball was redesigned, and now made from different materials. I think it is still a good value ball, but it doesn't last nearly as long as the previous ball, which affects the value proposition. I would love the old design back, and I'd be willing to pay the $40 for it.
In the meantime, I'll still buy this ball. It is decent, and the price is low...but it does make me miss the superior version.
