Although much of the plot is somewhat predictable, there are some unexpected developments. Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's not all about the end, but about the journey, and the writing is simply a real pleasure to read. The main characters are very developed and complex, providing lots of food for thought when analysing why people make the decisions they do. As soon as I finished reading the book I started reading it again. Jodi Picoult is an amazing writer who excels at painting very detailed portraits of her characters to the extent that you really feel that you know them. This book is definitely one of my favorites of hers.
