THE MAFIA HIT MEN
Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2019
Ah the Mafia or better still the infamous "Black Hand" of the Sicilian families, who made their move to America. They settled in New York City, lower East side, where they made life of the new Italian emigrants lived. They, moved into areas where they could control manipulate the law with bribes, which went far. They controlled the docks up and down the eastern coast. They expanded into the protection rackets any that they could make a profit off of their own fellow countrymen, whom knew the threat these men exposed while they lived in Italy and Sicily.
New Orleans has always had a reputation of bribery, nothing new! Owners of businesses had to pay protection money, or their businesses would somehow burn 🔥down or the owners would lose their lives. These gangs leaders Dons and their solders had no limits, life mean't held very little value in their world. Mason Hawke knew the kind of men he was dealing with. Very persistent, determined to carry out their assignments of death so that they could rise in the organization to possibly be given a town or city to extort. The bad news bears folks..scary.
Rachel is on the run because there's a bounty on her and Hawke's life. What a mess, but fear not Hawke is a force to deal with, which these henchmen and their leaders will soon discover.
The author also touches upon the after effects of the "War Of Anarchy" families both wealthy and poor were left without any finances. Some family were wiped off the face of the earth. The so called "greed slaves" suffered worse than the poorest white tenant farmers. Women who had no family or skill worked as saloon girls..Can't get any lower than that during that period of American history.
You'll enjoy reading 📚this adventure of our friendly talented"piano player, Mason Hawke. He's a dare devil showing no fear, but don't mistake that as a hindrance because it isn't. A man with strong ethics and moral fortitude, that's Mason Hawke.
