Slow Moving explication
Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2015
The narrative moves slowly for an abundance of exposition, internal dialog from every character, and a fairly dull plot line. Disparate elements - a statue of Mary, bits of famous speeches, science of fishes, slow the plot line even more and then when the reader needs plain explanation (why were the boys given up for adoption - do they ever learn of the girl's history) the author plays coy, leaving the reader tempted to skim quickly to the end, to which I eventually did.
