2002 Grand Cherokee - window works again!
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2020
Rear driver window glass just fell down and wouldn't roll up. This is the exact cure for that issue. A little more expensive than the no-name brands, but it looks better.
After tearing into the door panel, it appeared that this had already been replaced once. Can't speak to how it compares to factory, but this looked alot nicer quality than the one that broke inside our door.
YouTube video online I found, and the paper instructions included with the part made it fairly painless. Hardest part was fishing the new replacement into the door.
Watch which way the motor ends up after stuffing it into the door. Somehow I got it backwards and had to pull it partway out again to flip the motor around for mounting to the metal panel.
This unit came with 3 new screws to mount the motor. Had to remove them before stuffing into the door, but in retrospect the bottom 2 screws could have been left in place. The reason is there is an oversized hole that is slotted to accommodate the head of the screw on the metal door mount. It sort of slides in and pre-positions the motor on the door until you line up the rest of the assembly into position to add screws.
I also added a bit of white lithium grease on the track before I inserted the assembly. You have to have the rear switch reconnected in order to test the new assembly. Everything works again like a champ!
