Jenoff Gets Better
Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2011
This is my third book by Jenoff, and she gets better with each publication. She has found a comfortable mix of espionage and romance for her characters. She presents a believeable plot, and guides the action successfully--keeping the reader interested and involved. Her female characters are multi-dimensional and capable--no shy violets. Her expertise on Poland and the Holocaust are put to good use in the books. I especially enjoyed the "picture" of Cambridge and of rowing that is central to "Almost Home." I like the way she "ends" her books but doesn't complete the action. There is enough closure to satisfy, but I am left with a hunger for more. Therefore, I am looking forward to "A Hidden Affair."
