Chico Romez joins the Royals baseball team and is welcomed by all the players. With his great baseball skills that will help the team win baseball games, I can see why all his pals like him. However, String Becker doesn't like him. Perhaps since Chico is playing good baseball, the fans love it, and he's stealing the show away from String. It's a shame but it's true, there is always one rotten apple in the bunch that ruins all the fun for everybody. And so, Chico feels left out of the loop, and faces the awesome task of proving himself to String that he is an asset to the team. It shouldn't have to be that way where one new player has to struggle to win the acceptance of the other players. Again, using baseball as a platform in "Baseball Flyhawk," Matt Christopher gives kids of all ages an exciting baseball story they won't be able to put down until they finish reading the last page. I strongly recommend this book and give it five stars. Marvin P. Ferguson, author of THE UNKNOWN BASEBALL PLAYER.
