18 Grams of Protein at a Great Price
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2018
I was looking for a boxed lunch to have at work. I figured tuna and crackers would do the trick. I bought this product and Bumble Bee Snack on the Run Tuna Salad w/Crackers to compare them.
Quantity - Both products come in packs of 12.
Cost - Both products are similar in cost, although this one is about $2 cheaper.
Size - This product is 4.48 ounces while the other is 3.5 ounces.
Calories - This product has 200 per box, while the other has 220 calories.
Protein - This product has 18g per box, while the other has 6g.
High Fructose Corn Syrup & Artificial Colors - This product's relish packet contains HFCS, FD&C Yellow #5 & Blue #1, while the other product does not contain these ingredients.
Office Smell Factor - This product releases a strong smell as the tuna is opened. The other product has a milder smell.
Messiness Factor - This product is relatively messy to prepare, so place everything on top of a napkin (not provided). The other product is relatively clean.
Meal Preparation - This Product - 1. Open the box. 2. Open the crackers and carefully remove them from the wrapper. Be careful as 1-2 crackers are likely to be broken. The crumbs can be poured into the provided plastic cup. 3. Cut the end off of the mayonnaise and relish packets, then squeeze into the plastic cup. 4. Remove wooden scoop from wrapper and mix the mayonnaise, relish, and crumbs together. 5. Open the can of tuna. be careful, because the lid pops off when you're pulling back on it. 6. Carefully scoop some of the tuna into the plastic cup and start mixing the ingredients. Stop adding tuna when the plastic cup is full (about 50-75% of the tuna has been added). 7. Start scooping the mixture onto crackers and eat. 8. Add remaining tuna to plastic cup and mix, then scoop onto crackers. 9. Eat any remaining tuna directly from the scoop.
Meal Preparation - Other Product - 1. Open the box. 2. Open the crackers and gently remove them from the wrapper. 3. Peel the seal off of the tuna mixture. 4. Use the plastic scoop to add tuna to the crackers, then eat. 5. Eat any remaining tuna from the plastic scoop.
Summary - The main thing that this product has going for it is that it is slightly cheaper and contains 3 times as much protein. Unfortunately, it takes 2-3 minutes to mix up the tuna, and the provided plastic cup is not large enough to handle the task.
