OK, Not great

I enjoyed the book as I like the west, especially Wyoming, hunting and a good police or in this case, a Game Warden story. Not a 5 star novel but an interesting story and likeable characters. A couple of obvious errors I noticed that he should not have made: Winchester never made an AR15 rifle. And, there is no such caliber as a .308 Magnum. If he meant a .308 Norma Magnum, he should have named it correctly. To many people, those not familiar with firearms, these errors would not be noticed. It just sort of spoiled the read for me as I hate to see such obvious errors in print. Also, he writes way too much background on peripheral characters who are not central to the story. It is boring. As a retired cop I would say the "hero" Joe Pickett makes some really stupid decisions. But, this is entertainment, not real life. Anyway it is an easy read and worth the discount price on Amazon. I will likely buy another one and hopefully it's better than this one.
