FINALLY a legal novel written (and well written) by a REAL LAWYER

I found Scott Turow’s bio as interesting as the book The book market seems to be flooded with “legal thrillers” written by folks who aren’t lawyers, and have probably never come closer to a courtroom than watching “Judge Judy” on television. Having practiced law for over 30 years, on both the prosecution and defense side of the criminal bar (a career that is similar toTurow’s) I find his stories to be reflective of the way things really work, in courtrooms, in law offices, in relationships. There may be some poetic license taken with procedures, or maybe they are just jurisdictional differences. Regardless, I recognize that’s nitpicking by me, and doesn’t affect the story in any significant way. I became a Turow fan years ago when I read one of his books in the Philadelphia Series asa stand-alone. Now I’m on a quest to read the entire series. Turow is one of just a handful of authors writing about legal dramas who actually “has been there, done that”, and what a refreshing difference that makes!
