Think you got one that's bad - plug in EVERYTHING incl. the door step light!

I watched a YouTube video on window regulator replacement instructions (for up to 2008 Pilot) by 1A Auto, The video is good but they are installing back the part they just took out in the first part of the video. So at some point they just very briefly mention that if the holes to attach the glass do not align (they most likely won't unless all you are doing is putting back the one you just took out like they are doing in the video), then they say you should just plug in the modules and turn on the ignition and and use the up/down buttons to align the holes. Well. I did that and almost decided that I got a bad unit. Until I got back to the reviews and some smart person mentioned that the plug on the bottom outer edge of the door needs to be plugged in too! That's the one that goes to the STEP LIGHT AT THE BOTTOM of the door. Crazy design but it did work after that. I guess some power is routed through that light. So here, in case you are struggling, maybe this will help.
P. S. I did follow the procedure on resetting the auto-down/up feature but with no luck. It's okay by me, it's not essential.
