These pearls were added to a 1st birthday cake. They look exactly as pictured in the listing. The downside is they are SUPER crunchy and don't have any flavor. Everyone was really thrown off by how crunchy they were, it almost feels like you are biting a bone. If you have dentures, please avoid buying these!
They're the size I need to make the eyes for my animal cookies but they aren't black as advertised. They are actually a metallic gunmetal, the same color as my car. If they stay the same color when melted, I can use it to cover the scratches on my car and it would look brand new again. Lol.
I like them. I was going to use them for eyes for a small unicorn on a birthday cake. Unfortunately the length of time it took to receive made that impossible. They were as described and I'm happy with them.
In royal frosting the outside melted off and colored the frosting a yucky brown color. Since it melted a little, the pearl fell out of the frosting. It left a brown little hole. Not what I was hoping for. Made for a good laugh. Maybe I have to wait till the frost has crusted a little bit. But I wanted it to stick.
These black sugar pearls are very pretty as a decoration on white icing. They look good for a few hours. The problem is if you put them on the icing the day before the event they will bleed black on your white icing. I am glad I saw the review that was posted on the bleeding and that I did a sample bake before using them on wedding cupcakes.
