Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
My 12 year old son has been reading this series. Generally, he is not a huge fan of leisure reading, but he has really enjoyed these books. We started off requiring him to read three chapters a day, but he quickly wanted to continue reading more. They were a huge hit! We enjoy the fact that while reading he is also learning a lot about Japanese culture in the 1600's. This series is not only entertaining but educational, as well. I highly recommend this series to young boys...maybe older ones too! :)

I am huge Jack Fletcher fan, and this book is one of my favorites of the series. Jack finds himself captured, and thus begins to question everything he has learned thus far, and learns many new skills that will help him on his way back home to his sister. Great book!
Both of my sons, 12 years and 14 years old, love this series (Young Samurai) and blaze through each book. They are both well read kids and believe this series of books is intriguing. I'm happy we can get them through Amazon, because none of them are in bookstores in California. These books are coming over from the U.K. On a side note, I got the first book of this series, because my son had to read historical fiction for his English class and this counted for it. He's been hooked ever since.
So, I'm not an adult. what ever. ok, so i was totally into the young sa.urai series when i first read the first book. And after the third book, i was dieing to know what happened. this book is really awesome. it's the best one in the sries so far. must read it, Young samurai! young samurai i meant you the person reading this review.
I personally really like this series of books. It is a good read with plenty of action, character development, little to almost no romance, and funny at times. The story gives you great verbal visuals when reading so that you can get a scene of the background and what is going on. Awesome books.
Of course...everybody knows the legend of Samurai where dedication to a detailed way of life, code and honor has been the same for generations. You know that is what you are going to get and the author comes through. Refreshing reading outside of literary humdrum of contemporary worlds where there is nothing but hedonism, murder, sex, money and power. Somehow this tradition is different - a devotion to honor! The Young Samurai book series is awesome for kids and kids at heart. Each book sparks a new interest in the Japanese warrior class (Samurai, ninja, ronin, bandits, and in this book ninja pirates). I recommend this book to all my martial arts students and their parents. A must read!
