Truly, unless you have golden ears and have a lot of extra cash to burn, this is all you need. With my Technics turntable, this sounds just as good as, or better than, using the the phono input in my receiver. (A Phillips 5.1)
Do use good cables and be sure to ground this preamp to your record player. I am a little surprised that PYLE use a conventional transformer instead of a switchmode power supply on these. Perhaps to minimize noise?
The internals are very conventional using one opamp and the RIAA compensation circuitry in the feedback loop. The circuit board is not SMD, but through-hole, so should you want to try another opamp it is easy to do. I.d recommend soldering in a socket if so.
