A subjective view of superhero history by one my personal favorite authors
Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2021
Grant Morrison has made his mark on the American and British comic book landscapes. Known for reinventing Silver Age DC with a hip, counterculture touch, Morrison now explains the history and appeal of superheroes from his own wizard eyes. If one is a Grant Morrison enthusiast like me, this book was a delight, Morrison not only talks about well known works like Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns, but also mentions much more obscure ones, like Marshal Law and Miracleman. Morrison's view of the history of superhero comics may not be everyone's cup of tea, but personally, this book reminds me why we love superheroes so much.
