Could have been better variety of choices

If you're going to throw a teaser out there to get people interested in your cook book, a better variety would probably help more. 2 mac and cheese recipes and 1 red velvet pancake recipe? While I have one of Ms. Lillien's other books, her recipes are very often hit or miss. The idea of putting macaroni already cooked to 'al dente' in a crock pot for a couple of hours with ketchup and cauliflower with artificial cheese sauce doesn't excite me. Okay, how about something else...red velvet pancakes? Nope. Great red velvet is not easy. Cocoa with several packets of non-calorie sweetener? Pass. I don't do artificial sweeteners any more. Buffalo wing macaroni and cheese. Didn't we just look at mac and cheese? There are sometimes when you just have to stop messing around and accept that if you don't want it on your waist, don't put it in your mouth. Maybe Lisa Lillien needs to read Pauline Nordin or Tracy Reifkind.
