Really poorly written 3 book series
Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2020
The 3 book series that ends with this book was a chore to read . The writing was amateurish, the plot mostly absurd, the development of characters illogical, and any combat description sections were the most unrealistic descriptions of combat I have ever read. The time-line of the war is nonsense. The plot spends hundreds of pages developing issues that are just abandoned. Then, it tells core plot developments in a few pages or paragraphs. What of the ending....well, after almost a total 1000 pages between the 3 books, the story just ends in a handful of pages that make zero sense in the overall story. And the epilogue...well, best nothing said of that.
I only finished reading these since I bought them as a group and I am stubborn.
Michael Martin cannot write and it is beyond me how he was given the job to tell such an important part of Star Trek lore as the First Romulan War.
Just save yourself the facepalms and muttering over the absurdity of these 3 books.
Star Trek ENTERPRISE suffered from bad writing and this 3 book series ( books 12, 13 ,14) continues that sad tradition.
